Memorial Services Set for Harding Student Killed in Kentucky Crash

SEARCY, AR – Harding University will be hosting two memorials next week to honor and remember Nicholas Smith, a senior at the University who died on Saturday (March 7) in an automobile accident.

It happened around 1 a.m. on Interstate 71 just outside Louisville, Kentucky. Smith was traveling to a student-organized mission trip to Syracuse, New York, where he was to be a summer youth intern.

The memorial services are as follows:

Student-led candlelight vigil
Wednesday, March 18
9 p.m.
Outside on the steps in front of Benson Auditorium

Chapel memorial service
Thursday, March 19
Two service options at 9 and 10 a.m.
Benson Auditorium

Smith, originally from Buford, Georgia, was a senior youth and family ministry major at the University set to graduate in May, a member of Beta Omega Chi men’s social club, and an honors student.
