Miss Arkansas Counts Her Blessings after Miss America Pageant

LITTLE ROCK, AR – Miss Arkanss 2014 is back home after her whirlwind turn at the Miss America pageant.

Ashton Campbell, 20, of Hindsville, finished in the top 3, taking home a $20,000 scholarship as the 2nd runner up.

The University of Arkansas student is counting her blessings at doing her state proud and is glad to be back home to continue her reign until next summer.

“I heard the expression that you know this is a dream with an expiration date, and it’s so true because you can only step on that stage one time as a competitor for Miss America, and so to be there is amazing, but like I said, I’m really excited to represent Arkansas. I wanted the job of Miss Arkansas, I didn’t want to be Miss Arkansas to compete for Miss America, I wanted to be Miss Arkansas, so now I get to let that come true, let that dream be lived out,” she says.

Campbell will spend the rest of her time as Miss Arkansas pursuing her personal platform, which is higher education.
