Reports of a naked man running through Little Rock’s Hillcrest neighborhood surfaced on social media Sunday.
Police were called out to the 3000 block of Kavanaugh Blvd Sunday afternoon and saw the naked man waving his arms and screaming, according to an arrest report.
Officers eventually arrested 29-year-old Barkley Boyd.
Boyd initially complied with officers but later spit on an officer while inside a patrol car, according to a police report.
People in the Hillcrest area remained shocked about what happened.
“The first thing that went through my mind was ‘Oh no” ya know? It was like ‘Oh my goodness,'” Marsha Byers says.
Byers owns Hillcrest Interiors, which sits just feet away from where Barkley was arrested.
Byers didn’t see what happened on Sunday, but she heard about it from friends and on social media.
“People express themselves in odd ways these days,” Byers says.
Boyd told officers he had taken LSD or acid earlier Sunday morning. He was taken to a hospital before being booked into the Pulaski County jail.
He faces charges of aggravated assault and public intoxication, according to jail records.
Boyd has since bonded out of jail.
