LITTLE ROCK, AR — The National Multiple Sclerosis Society of Arkansas is looking for volunteers to help with Walk MS: Little Rock, according to a release.

On Saturday, April 14, hundreds of walkers are expected to hit the pavement and help raise the goal of $85,000. Funds raised will support direct services for the more than 2,900 people with MS and their families in Arkansas and MS research to find a cure for this chronic disease of the central nervous system.

“Volunteers are the backbone of this event,” Development Manager, Lisa Finkbeiner said.

“Volunteers can help with planning before the walk, registering walkers, monitoring the route, handing out snacks or cheering on the walkers. There’s a place for everyone to help!”

Registration opens at 10:00 am on April 14 at the River Market Amphitheatre, followed by an 11:00 am start time for the walk. There is no registration fee and no minimum pledge commitment; however, the average walker raises $100 to support research initiatives, programs and services of the National MS Society: Arkansas.

Individuals interested in joining or creating a team can sign up online at walkmsarkansas.org with co-workers, friends, family or neighbors. Dogs are welcome.
