New Free After School Program in Little Rock

News

LITTLE ROCK, Ark – A new outreach program at the West Central Community Center is needing middle school students to enroll.

“Soaring beyond expectations” is a free after school program to help middle school students excel in reading, math and science.

Doris Wright is a Little rock City Director for Ward 6, and she applied for the grant to fund this program after learning schools in her ward were falling behind.

She says, “[It is] open to any student attending a low performing school or who’s grades are not where they need to be and need help.”

Homework help, tutoring and hands-on fun will begin October 1. Up to 100 sixth through 8 grade students can apply to attend.
