LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – New information is being released by police about a Monday morning incident that involved shots being fired in a neighborhood just off Cantrell Road.
A Little Rock Police Department (LRPD) report released on Tuesday reveals officers first encountered a man and woman in the front yard of a home in the 13400 block of Cantrell shortly before 11 a.m. where a rifle was found on the ground and a second man was also reported to be nearby.
All three live in the area according to the LRPD report. One of the men had a head injury he told police was from a gunshot and police say he appeared to pass out several times while being questioned at the scene. He reportedly told officers he had been shot at but would not answer other questions.
Police believe the incident involved a home break-in attempt.
The woman told police her husband and his brother were heading to another brother’s house when they saw a person on a 4-wheeler pass them whom they described as suspicious. The woman reported that she saw that man inside a home when she walked in and after he fired gunshots, she ran outside with her husband.
Police say the woman was taken to the hospital for treatment of a cut to her hand and the two men were taken to the LRPD Northwest Substation to be interviewed by detectives.
No charges have yet been filed and the case remains under investigation by property crimes detectives, the LRPD says.
