New walkway built for Russellville homeless camp thanks to volunteers

RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – Some people in the River Valley spent their spring break building a walkway to and from a homeless camp.

Volunteers with the Russ Bus say the wet winter we’ve had caused the homeless camp to get muddy.

The people who live here are working homeless so they have had to trek through the mud to get to and from work.

That’s why they built this walkway.

Fred Teague with the Russ Bus says the people who live in the camp are grateful

“It meant so much to him that he was going to have this place to walk and not get his feet muddy every time he had to get out,” says Fred Teague.

The Russ Bus says all the supplies to build the walkway was donated by area businesses.
