Newborn Baby Found Abandoned on Front Porch of Garland County Home

GARLAND COUNTY, AR – A newborn baby found abandoned outside a home is now hospitalized in Little Rock.

The Garland County Sheriff’s Office (GCSO) says the infant was found around 4:20 p.m. Monday on the front porch of a home on Pine Berry Lane in western Garland County,

Deputies say a homeowner found the baby lying on their porch, wrapped in a blanket. The GCSO says it appeared the infant was no more than a few hours old.

The baby, which appeared to be in good health, was first taken to St. Vincent’s in Hot Springs but then transferred to Arkansas Children’s Hospital for further examination and observation.

Investigators are working to identify and locate the child’s mother and anyone else who may have information about the case.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Sgt. Mike Wright, Criminal Investigation Division, at (501) 622-3690, or the anonymous 24/hour hotline at (501) 622-3674.
