Oak Grove copper theft

NORTH LITTLE ROCK, AR – $5,000 worth of damage was done to a high school after thieves stripped copper from electrical units on two separate occasions in January.

According to reports, officials from the Pulaski County Sheriff’s Office responded to Oak Grove High School on January 2 after receiving calls about a theft. When they arrived, they found that copper wires had been cut from an electrical box and air conditioner units had been completely stripped of all copper wire and metal parts. Damage to the property was estimated at $2,500 dollars.

Later, on January 27, police received another call from Oak Grove. A security guard told police that he noticed more copper wires had been stolen from the electrical boxes inside of a walk-in utility closet. Damage from this incident was estimated at $2,500.

Police have no suspects at this time. The investigation is ongoing.
