MOUNTAIN HOME, Ark. – A parolee has been arrested by the Baxter County Sheriff’s Office (BCSO) in the investigation of a robbery and kidnapping.

Eli Michael Weedman, 35, of Mountain Home, is being held on $150,000 bond following a May 13 incident.

The BCSO says deputies were called to a home on Old Tracy Rd. for a reported burglary. It was reported that Weedman and another man, who has not yet been unidentified, kicked in the door of the home. A woman Weedman knew was reported to have been inside the home and he is alleged to have been forced her to leave with him. He is also accused of taking personal property from the house that belonged to the occupant.

Weedman was then reported to have been headed to a house on Baxter County Road 302. When deputies went there looking for him, they reported finding the vehicle he had driven there but no sign of him or the woman.

The homeowner told deputies Weedman and the woman had gone into the back bedroom and left soon after with a couple of backpacks. Deputies found a .22 semi-automatic pistol in the bedroom and seized it as evidence.

The BCSO says Weedman later allowed the woman to leave. She was found by deputies at her workplace of employment and was interviewed about the incident. She told investigators she believed Weedman would have hurt her if she had not left with him and alleged he had threatened her with bodily harm the day before.

Thanks to a citizen’s tip, Weedman was finally found on Monday afternoon at a house on South St. in Mountain Home and taken into custody.

During his arrest, deputies also reported finding various articles of drug paraphernalia and prescription pills at the house on South Street.

Weedman is jailed on these charges:

  • Kidnapping – Felony
  • Aggravated Robbery – Felony
  • Aggravated Assault – Felony
  • Possession Controlled Substance – Felony
  • Possession of Drug Paraphernalia – Felony
  • Criminal Mischief – Misdemeanor
  • Habitual Offender – Penalty Enhancement
  • Parole Violation – Felony

According to the Sheriff’s Office, Weedman has been booked into the Baxter County Jail a total of 36 times since 2000.

Arrested at the house along with Weedman was Samantha Weedman, 25. She was booked on charges of:

  • Possession Controlled Substance – Felony
  • Possession of Drug Paraphernalia – Felony

She was released from custody on $2,000 bond and will appear in Circuit Court on June 21.
