PINE BLUFF, Ark.– (Press release) The Pine Bluff Police Department is in the early stage of investigating two separate homicides.

On March 29, 2019 around 8:00 p.m. , Officers were dispatched to the 2500 block of Howard Drive in reference to gun shots in the area. Officers arrived on scene and found a vehicle at the intersection of Tulip Street and Howard Drive. There was a male found inside the vehicle slumped over. The male was identified as 64 year old Terry Smith of Pine Bluff.

The coroner, Jason Duren, arrived on scene and pronounced Mr. Smith deceased at 834 p.m. No motives or suspect is known at this time.

Also on March 29, 2019 around 950 p.m., Officers were dispatched to 29 S. Richard in reference to a shooting. Officers arrived on scene and found 39 year old April Juarez. Coroner Jason Duren arrived on scene and pronounced Ms. Juarez deceased at 958 p.m. A suspect is in custody, but due to the suspect being a juvenile the name will not be released.

Both homicides are in the early stage of investigation. This will be the eighth and ninth homicide in 2019.
