Police: 21-Year-Old Mother Arrested After Leading Police on Chase

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. — A 21-year-old North Little Rock mother is in jail tonight – after police say she led them on a small chase before crashing into another car over the weekend.

“It’s a pretty nice community,” says Goodfella’s Barbershop manager, Eric Ward. “It’s a neighborhood right there.”

It’s been a staple in the community for almost five years. “We see a whole lot of traffic from the outside community,” says Cheyz Harmon. “Everybody vibes people like coming into the barber shop.” Just as much as they are connected to the community inside this shop – they were devastated to hear of crime creeping into their neighborhood – just blocks away from this front door.

“It’s real shocking, it’s disturbing to hear something like that,” says Ward.

North Little Rock police say they were called out Saturday night for a woman causing a disturbance and armed with a gun. Police say when they arrived – they saw 21-year-old Cierra Finley sitting in her car – before she sped away –  leading police on a chase.

Police say Finley ran a red light – crashing into a car after ignoring several commands. Finley then started running away with her 10-month-old injured son in her hands. “For something like that to happen it’s tragic,” says Ward.

While these barbers are  inviting the outside community into their shop – they’re hoping the streets outside – stay safe. “Hoping it doesn’t happen again,” says Ward.

Finley faces charges for fleeing, endangering the welfare of a minor and possession of a controlled substance.
