LITTLE ROCK, AR – Remains found Wednesday at Petit Jean State Park near Morrilton have been identified as those of a Little Rock man who was reported missing more than seven years ago.

That’s according to a state parks official speaking at a news conference at Petit Jean this afternoon.

Officials say Glasgow’s remains were found one-third of a mile off the nearest hiking trail in the Red Bluff area. They add that the location is so remote and rugged that hikers are encouraged not to go there.

A state parks official says there’s no word on how long it will take to confirm Glasgow’s cause of death.

John Glasgow, 45, had disappeared on Jan. 28, 2008. His unlocked vehicle had been found near the park’s Mather Lodge the next day with his cellphone and other belongings inside.

On Wednesday afternoon, shortly before 5, two hikers reported finding the remains.

Glasgow’s family is holding a news conference this afternoon in Little Rock. We will provide a live stream, starting at 4 p.m.
