NORTH LITTLE ROCK, Ark. — Amazon is making plans to put up a tent structure in North Little Rock, according to ArkansasOnline.com.

Based on documents submitted to the North Little Rock Planning Department, the 16,000-foot facility would be temporary.

According to Arkansas Online, the tent wouldn’t have any water or sewer connections. Those would be in nearby modular buildings.

This location would be a transitory facility housed in the 1900 block on N Locust. The announcement was made earlier this year that Amazon had entered an agreement to take over the property.  Many hoped Amazon would build a large, more permanent facility.

According to Arkansas Online, Amazon has put up similar “tents” in places like Baton Rouge and Memphis. They report it’s part of a test plan to speed package delivery.

This is believed to be the first tent-like structure proposed in North Little Rock.
