Arkansas Men’s Basketball Head Coach Mike Anderson announced Razorback legend Scotty Thurman will be in a coaching role for the 2016-17 season.

For the last six seasons, Thurman has served as the Director of Student-Athlete Development. Thurman will now move into an assistant coach role.

Thurman will assist with recruiting, scouting reports and player development for the Razorbacks.

“This is an opportunity for us to take full advantage of the strengths we have within our staff and restructure some duties,” Coach Anderson said. “We have talented individuals within our program and I’m looking forward to maximizing their potential moving forward.”

Thurman was part of three of the most decorated years in Razorback Basketball history, helping the hogs to back-to-back NCAA final four appearances, including the 1994 NCAA Championship.

Matt Zimmerman, who has been with Coach Anderson for the past 14 years, will now serve as the Director of Operations.

Jeff Daniels, a member of Coach Anderson’s staff, will assume the Student-Athlete Development roles within the program.
