LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – Two former Bauxite High School baseball players have been arrested in Polk County seven months after sexual assault and hazing allegations first surfaced.
The alleged incident happened in March 2018 in Polk County.
They’re identified as Lorenz Fehrenbacher, 19, and Gage Lester, 18, according to Prosecuting Attorney Andy Riner (Polk County). Fehrenbacher, who was 18 at the time of the allegations, faces charges of Assault (3rd Degree), Hazing (3rd Degree) and Battery (3rd Degree). The charges against Lester are Assault (3rd Degree) and Hazing (3rd Degree). Both had turned themselves in, officials say.
Fehrenbacher and Lester were arrested on Thursday, booked into the Polk County Jail and then released on their own recognizance. Their first court appearance is scheduled for Nov. 9.
The prosecutor stresses the allegations are just that and the teens are “innocent until proven guilty.”
Riner did not comment on the possibility of any other arrests.
We reported back in June that the parents of one of six teens said all had been cleared of any wrongdoing in an Arkansas State Police (ASP) investigation. At that time, there had been no official word from the Prosecutor.
The Bauxite School District had expelled three of the boys for the remainder of the school year and suspended others.
Two team coaches had been on paid leave by the school district amid the investigation but were later
cleared in the child maltreatment portion of the ASP investigation.
