Deadly Wreck in Benton, SUV Rolls into Motel

The driver was killed and a woman sleeping in one of the motel's rooms was hurt

BENTON, Ark. - A Hot Springs woman has died after her vehicle went off Interstate 30 and rolled into a motel.

It happened around 12:30 a.m. Wednesday. An Arkansas State Police (ASP) preliminary accident report identifies her as Ashley Pharr, 34.

According to the ASP report, Pharr was driving a 2007 Toyota 4Runner headed west when the SUV crossed the median and north service road before flipping over and hitting the east end of the Troutt Motel. Pharr was reported to have been thrown out of the vehicle.

The ASP says a 45-year-old woman sleeping in the motel was struck when the vehicle rolled into the building. She was taken to Saline Memorial Hospital for treatment. There's no further word on her condition.
