STUTTGART, Ark. – Cleanup and power restoration continued Monday morning in Stuttgart after thunderstorm winds blew in Sunday evening.
The Arkansas Storm Team reports that there was a 67 mph gust at the Stuttgart Airport as the storm moved through town, toppling multiple power lines.
“Trees had fallen on top of cars and homes. On the 900 block of S. Grand, the Stuttgart Fire Department was dispatched to the scene to find a very large tree had fallen on the house. A female was trapped in the back bedroom but was reported to be in good condition,” the Stuttgart Daily Leader newspaper reported. Click here to read the full article.
Other thunderstorm wind damage reports Sunday from the National Weather Service Office in Little Rock:
7:18 p.m. – Star City (Lincoln County) – Power out. Tree down on a power substation. Winds estimated at 50 mph.
6:20 p.m. – Near Ricusky (Arkansas County) – Trees and power lines down near Hwy. 276.
6:15 p.m. – Stuttgart (Arkansas County) – Police report power poles are down throughout the city.
5:50 p.m. – Near Carlisle (Lonoke County) – Power lines reported down 1 mile northwest of Carlisle.
4:39 p.m. – Pangburn (White County) – Power poles were blown down.
3:30 p.m. – Tuckerman (Jackson County) – Trees and power lines down in Tuckerman.
