SEBASTIAN COUNTY, Ark. - The identities of the suspect who was shot and killed, and the three injured deputies during a standoff on Monday have been released.

The Sebastian County Sheriff's Office (SCSO) says the deceased suspect was Peter Boden, 48, of Hackett.

According to a news release, Boden was arrested in Sebastian County in March for a charge of aggravated assault. Authorities say this charge had not yet been adjudicated.

The three deputies who were injured by the shots fired by Boden were Cpl. Sean Wallace, Cpl. Ron Decker, and Deputy Rusty Wilson.

All three are SCSO SWAT team members.

SEBASTIAN COUNTY, Ark. - The Sebastian County Sheriff's Office (SCSO) held a press conference at 2 p.m. on Tuesday regarding an officer-involved shooting that left one man dead, and three deputies injured Monday night.

Captain Phillip Pevehouse with the SCSO, told reporters that the standoff happened at a home near Sunny Hill Place in the Hackett area.

Authorities have not yet released the names of the suspect and injured deputies. The three deputies were treated for shotgun pellet wounds, and have been released from the hospital.

Sebastian County deputies were initially called to the scene after a neighbor reported shots fired.

During the press conference, Sebastian Co. Sheriff Bill Hollenbeck said that the suspect initiated the incident.

He said when the SSCO deputies began setting up a perimeter was when the suspect began firing on the three deputies.

Cpt. Pevehouse said the suspect, using a shotgun, had fired close to 30 rounds at the deputies.

Authorities say the suspect had been armed inside his vehicle, and was trying to leave, when his vehicle became disabled. The suspect then got out of his vehicle where he was shot and killed by deputies.

Cpt. Pevehouse said the standoff lasted a little less than four hours. He said the incident began as a hostile situation, before leading to a standoff. He says the incident is possibly related to domestic violence.

Sheriff Hollenbeck said neighbors were trapped inside their own homes during the incident. He said that three people were evacuated from their homes, not including the wife of the suspect who was also evacuated.

"An ongoing dangerous situation," Sheriff Hollenbeck said. "It was a tragedy. My heart goes out to his family. This something we didn't want to happen. Ultimately the suspect controlled the situation."
