Update: One Dead in Officer-Involved Shooting in Springdale


SPRINGDALE, Ark. -  An officer-involved shooting in Springdale Thursday night leaves one dead.

Officers at the scene rendered first aid to the individual, and he was later transported to the Washington Regional Medical Center in Fayetteville, where he was later pronounced dead. 

The body has been sent to the State Crime Lab. 

Authorities have not released any further details.

SPRINGDALE, Ark. (KNWA) - One man was taken to the hospital following an officer-involved shooting Thursday night in Springdale, according to deputies.

Deputies with the Washington County Sheriff's Office said they responded to a domestic disturbance at a home on Sonora Acres Road in Springdale around 11:15 p.m.  The sheriff's office called in officers with the Springdale Police Department for assistance.

When law enforcement arrived on scene, deputies said they were approached by a man with a gun. The man refused to put down the gun, and that's when he was shot.  

The man was taken to Washington Regional Medical Center in Fayetteville. His name and condition have not been released.

Arkansas State Police will investigate the shooting.
