Worker Electrocuted at Job Site in Pine Bluff

PINE BLUFF, Ark. – One man is dead after being electrocuted at a job site Monday morning. 

Police were call just before 10 a.m. to Planters Cotton Oil Mill located at the 2900 block of Planters Drive in regards to a assist call. 

The victim has been identified by officials as Samson Staton. 

The Assistant Superintendent told authorities that Staton and another worker were in a electrical cage attempting to change some switches when something happened causing Staton to be electrocuted. 

EASI and first responders arrived on the scene shortly after police. 

According to the incident report, an officer noticed one of the EASI personnel take a picture of the victim and the plant supervisor became upset. 

The report states the officer told the man to put his phone away because this was a crime scene and the man complied. 

Detective then arrived to process the scene, and the man’s phone was confiscated.
