PINE BLUFF, AR — Thirty-one flu deaths have been reported in Arkansas.

State health leaders said it’s not too late to get vaccinated.

Nurses at the Jefferson County Health Department said a lot of people have been through their doors to get a shot, but they have plenty more vaccines to give.

Even though the shot is free and life-saving, some people still won’t get it.

People between the ages of 25 and 50 are the most vulnerable this time, so health leaders want to make sure they get the shot.

“That group is usually your working population or they have kids, and kids are getting the germs and bringing them home from school,” said Dena Poteat, regional director for the Arkansas Department of Health.

Health leaders said we’re only in the middle of flu season. The flu season, in some cases, could last until May!
