LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – A local teen has been injured in what a police report says was a drug deal that led to a shooting near Central High School.

It happened around 2 p.m. on Wednesday.

The Little Rock Police Department (LRPD) report says officers found the 17-year-old boy in the emergency room at CHI St. Vincent. That’s where nurses told them the teen had been shot on the left side of his abdomen.

Before he was taken to the operating room, he spoke with police, telling them he met with three boys aged 17-18 to sell marijuana when one of them shot him while they were inside of a car. He described the weapon as a Glock-style semi-automatic handgun.

After shooting him, the teen said the suspects stole his Air Jordan backpack.

The report did not state how the teen got to the hospital and there’s no further information on his condition.
