Trump Labels Rubio, Cruz ‘Liars’ During AR Campaign Rally

BENTONVILLE, Ark. — Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump spoke Saturday afternoon in front of an estimated crowd of 5,000 at Northwest Arkansas Regional Airport in Bentonville.

Trump was introduced by former presidential candidate Chris Christie who endorsed Trump on Friday. Christie set the tone for the event immediately attacking Marco Rubio and his attendance record at Senate hearings.

“Hey Marco,” a laughing Christie said to the crowd. “Show up for work!  You people have to show up for work, right?”

Trump continued the trend labeling Rubio and Ted Cruz as “liars.”

“He’s a very nasty guy,” Trump said of Rubio. “I actually thought Ted Cruz was a liar but Rubio is worse!”

Trump continued to hit on Rubio referring to him as a “lightweight” who sweats under pressure.

In discussing policy, Trump discussed plans for international trade, keeping businesses in America and border security.

During the address, Rubio’s camp sent out the following statement attributed to Arkansas Governor Asa Hutchinson:

“It is up to Arkansas to stop the Donald Trump show. The next generation of conservatives cannot allow Donald Trump to take everything we stand for and throw it away. Marco Rubio has shown that he is the only candidate that can take the fight to Trump and win. If conservatives are serious about stopping him, then we need to unify behind Marco to win in November.”

This was Trump’s second Arkansas campaign stop over the last few weeks.  He spoke in front of a record-setting crowd at Little Rock’s Barton Coliseum on February 3.
