Two Armed Robberies in Searcy, One Suspect Arrested

SEARCY, AR – Police respond to two armed robberies in the city of Searcy Friday. 

At 1:30 p.m., a man entered the Valero gas station on North Maple with a small handgun demanding cash.  He then left the business running towards an apartment complex located behind the store on Holmes Rd. 

Police arrest Curtis Daniel Howard, 18, of Newport. He faces aggravated robbery charges and theft of property.  

Howard was taken to the White County Detention Center and issued a $75,000 bond.  

Earlier that day at 10:00 a.m., officers were called to the Subway on East Rave Ave.  According to employees, a tall, white male entered the restaurant holding a small handgun demanding money. 

The suspect left the business through the back door with an undisclosed amount of cash and is described to be six-foot-2 or 6-foot-3, heavyset, wearing a gray mask, sunglasses, and a dark jacket.
