Two Women Face Assault, Battery Charges Following Disturbance in Benton

BENTON, AR – Two women are behind bars after police say the were involved in a physical altercation on Tuesday morning.

Shortly before 9:30, officers responded to the 900 block of Ward Street on report of a disturbance. When officers arrived the spoke with the two suspects involved in the disturbance who they identified as Bobbie White, 32, of Benton and Taylor Mathis,33, of Malvern.

After officers gathered information from the suspects and witnesses at the scene, officers learned that Mathis and White became involved in verbal argument at first and then it turned physical with them pushing each other, pulling hair, and hitting each other.

Police say both suspects had evidence of injuries that didn’t require medical care at the scene, including marks on Mathis’ neck where she said White choked her.

Both White and Mathis were arrested and taken to the Saline County Detention Facility.

White is charged with Aggravated Assault and Battery 3rd Degree, and Mathis is charged with Battery 3rd Degree.
