LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – No clues have been found in the second search of a local park in a 2015 missing teen case.
Still no signs of Ebby Steppach, then 18, who disappeared in October of last year.
Police wrapped up a three-day search Thursday in the area around Chalamont Park off Highway 10/Cantrell Road, where Steppach’s car was found abandoned after her disappearance.
Little Rock Police partnered with the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children in the search, which involved bloodhounds.
“Of course yes, we hope Ebby Steppach is still alive, but if she’s not, you still wanna find something because you wanna bring closure for the family,” says Lt. Steve McClanahan with the Little Rock Police Department.
Police say no human remains or anything else of value was found during the search and they say it’s still an open investigation.

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – The first day of a three-day search wrapped up late Tuesday afternoon in a neighborhood on the city’s west side for clues in the case of a teenaged girl who’s been missing for more than a year.
Ebby Steppach, then 18, went missing 13 months ago and now the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC), along with the Little Rock Police Department (LRPD), is searching the area where her car was found back in October 2015.
Detectives say the area near Chalamont Park in a neighborhood south of Cantrell Road needs to be searched again just to make sure nothing has been missed.
The search began just after 9 a.m. Tuesday with two bloodhounds leading the way. They took off into the woods behind the park.
Police say this is the second team of detectives on this case, which is another reason for the search. It’s led by a team of experts from NCMEC.
One of the officers taking part in the search says it’s a chance to make sure every part of the area has been covered, to end the wonder that everything was done to find the missing teen.
“It’s exactly why we’re out here. Again it’s a more extensive search, a search using high caliber dogs and handlers with a lot of experience,” explains Lt. Dana Jackson with the LRPD. “We’re looking for anything. Anything means anything. Anything out here that can help us find out where Ebby is, what happened to her, where she’s at.”
