Update: Motorcyclist Dies in LR Collision with Semi

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – A motorcyclist killed in a Monday evening accident has been identified.

On Tuesday afternoon, the Little Rock Police Department released an update on the incident and named Michael Turner, 27, as the victim.

It happened shortly after 5:15 p.m. at the intersection of Baseline Rd. and Interstate 30.

When officers arrived they found Turner lying on the ground unresponsive. Officers also spoke with the driver of the 18-wheeler, who did not have any injuries from the accident. 

MEMS responded to the scene and pronounced Turner dead.

The LRPD says that from preliminary evidence at the scene, it appears the 18 wheeler was headed east on the I-30 Frontage Road, making a left turn onto Baseline Road (west). Turner was headed east on Baseline Road and collided with the trailer of the 18 wheeler.

The factors of what caused the accident are still under investigation by LRPD reconstruction officers.

Police say to take an alternate route due to lane closures. 

Authorities say the wreck involved a motorcycle and an 18 wheeler.
