Update: Police Identify Body Found in Little Rock’s Kanis Park

Update: 

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – The Little Rock Police Department (LRPD) has identified the body of a woman found Monday morning in Kanis Park.

LRPD identifies her as Jamie Mitchell, 42.

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – A suspicious death is under investigation by the Little Rock Police Department (LRPD) after a body is found on the city’s west side.

Officers were called to Kanis Park, near Interstate 630 and Rodney Parham Rd. around 10 a.m. Monday.

The LRPD says the body was found in a creek.

A witness told our reporter at the scene that the body was face down in the creek A bicyclist reportedly made the discovery and called police.

Police say the body of a white woman aged 30-40, appears to have been in the water for several hours, maybe longer.

There’s no word yet on whether or not the death is a homicide.
