Update: SUV Runs into School Bus in Conway County

Update (11:15 a.m.): 
CONWAY COUNTY, AR (News release) – At 7:40 a.m. on Thursday, Arkansas State Police was contacted by Conway County authorities about an accident involving a South Conway County School bus.

The crash scene was reported to be one mile east of Springfield (north of Plumerville.)

State troopers at the scene report the school bus heading westbound along State Highway 124 had slowed and activated its caution light when the driver of an SUV hit the rear of the bus.

The driver of the SUV was airlifted from the scene. There is no further word on their condition.

Fourteen students were on the bus at the time of the accident.

Two students were taken to CHI St. Vincent hospital in Morrilton. Their injuries were not life-threatening.

The bus driver was also treated for minor injuries.

Update (9:10 a.m.):
CONWAY COUNTY, AR – Four children on a South Conway County School District bus are being treated for minor injuries after an SUV ran into the back of the vehicle this morning.

That’s according to  Jonathan Trafford with the Conway County Office of Emergency Management, during an interview with Morrilton radio station KVOM.

There’s no word yet on the extent of the injuries to the driver of the SUV, who was flown to a Little Rock hospital for treatment.

CONWAY COUNTY, AR – At least two people are reported injured in an accident involving a school bus.

One of them, the driver of an SUV that reportedly ran into the back of the school bus, has been taken by Med Flight to a Little Rock hospital.

Troopers with the Arkansas State Police are investigating.

It happened around 7:15 this morning along Highway 124 east of Springfield, according to Jonathan Trafford with Conway County Office of Emergency Management.

Trafford says the bus involved belongs to the South Conway County School District.

There’s no further word the exact number of people hurt or what their injuries are.
