Update: Woman Shot While Holding Baby When Bullet Strikes Little Rock Home


LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – New details about a Wednesday night shooting that left a local woman injured reveal she was holding her infant son at the time.

The Little Rock Police Department (LRPD) says the 27-year-old suffered a gunshot wound to the thigh. Her son was not injured.

A 29-year-old woman and another child, a 1-year-old girl, were also inside the house on Allis St. when the incident happened.

According to the LRPD incident report released Thursday morning, the victim said she was sitting in front of her computer in a bedroom when she heard several gunshots outside.

Officers found a bullet hole on the backside of the computer desk and several shell casings in the alley on Maryland Ave. just east of the house.

A 77-year-old woman who lives across the street told police her house was also struck by gunfire. Officers found a bullet hole in one of her windows.

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – A woman is recovering after being shot Wednesday night.

The injury is not life-threatening, according to police.

It happened around 8:30 p.m. at a home in the 800 block of Allis Street.

According to police, the round came through the victim’s home.

The investigation is continuing.
