VIDEO: Heber Springs Murder Suspect Taken into County Jail

UPDATE (2 a.m.):

Murder suspect David Hammonds has been taken inside the Cleburne County Jail. He was transported from White County by the Arkansas State Police. FOX 16’s Mitch McCoy reports Hammonds appeared to have been limping.

UPDATE (10:45 p.m.):

The Deputy Clerk in Cleburne County says David Hammonds has been detained following a high speed chase that started in Jackson County. He was stopped and arrested on Highway 67, north of Searcy in White County.

UPDATE (10:10 p.m.):

Witnesses say that Charlie Johnson was shot multiple times and killed.

His wife, Candy Johnson was shot and taken to a Little Rock hospital, and she is in good condition.

UPDATE (3:30 p.m.)

HEBER SPRINGS, Ark. – The suspect in Thursday’s shooting was identified as David Hammonds, 58. He was last seen driving a gray 2009 Dodge flatbed truck with the license plate: D31-7551.

HEBER SPRINGS, Ark. – Two people were shot in Heber Springs on Thursday, police say. 

The victims were shot in a print shop within the city limits, according to the Heber Springs Police Department. 

Authorities are looking for one suspect. 

No details on the suspect are available at this time. The condition of the victims is also unknown.
