Some homeless advocates in Central Arkansas are now searching for solutions to get more homeless women off the streets.

Aaron Reddin of The One Inc., started seeing the need while handing out gloves, hats and other resources to area homeless. Reddin says he often hits roadblocks searching for emergency housing for homeless women, so now he’s trying to build a temporary shelter to help.

“This is one more way to get them off the streets and out of their cars they’ve been sleeping in. The girl we’ve been helping has been sleeping in her car, not acceptable to me,” he says.

Reddin says Habitat for Humanity has already donated three pieces of land, and he also an architect and contractor helping draw plans for a four bedroom house for homeless women. Next, he plans to focus on fundraising and continued help from community partners.
