Web Extra: 911 Calls Released from Last Week’s Homicide

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – Newly released 911 calls reveal the chaos in the minutes after a man was shot in killed in front of an apartment complex in broad daylight last week.  You can hear portions of those calls in the video clip above.

The Little Rock Police Department says Christopher Nixon, 28, suffered multiple gunshot wounds last Tuesday around 5 p.m. outside an apartment complex on Dreher Lane. The victim was found outside of a vehicle and was pronounced dead after being taken to UAMS.

The LRPD says as the investigation got underway, it was determined that there were two other people inside the vehicle with the victim at the time of the shooting who were not injured.

Three suspects drove away from the scene in a dark-colored vehicle.

Police say there was a man who drove through the area of the crime scene in a vehicle that was very similar to a vehicle seen on video at the time of the shooting. He was detained and interviewed by homicide detectives and later released without any charges.

This marked Little Rock’s 23rd homicide of 2018.
