LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (News Release)- For the second year in a row, AMR Architects has built a special dog house that one lucky pup or dog family will win at the 2019 Barkus on Main pet parade. To enter, those interested must purchase a ticket, either day-of or at participating locations. Tickets are priced at $1 each or $5 for six tickets. Purchasers must keep one side of the ticket and have it with them at the time of the drawing, around 3:30 p.m. on Sunday, March 31. Hopefuls must be present to win.
For those interested in purchasing tickets early and seeing the prize in person, the dog house will be located at the following places at the designated times:
March 11-18 – Hounds Lounge (Little Rock location)
March 19-25 – Bark Bar
March 26-30 – Hounds Lounge (North Little Rock location)

Presented by Hounds Lounge Pet Resort & Spa, this free and family-friendly event will take place Sunday, March 31 on Main Street, along the Creative Corridor in downtown Little Rock. The fun kicks off at noon and will feature live music from Dikki Du and The Zydeco Krewe, a beer garden by Rebel Kettle Brewing Co. and hurricane station, gumbo, crawfish boil, plenty of beads, and of course the Mardi Gras-themed dog parade. Check-in starts at noon, and the parade will begin at 2:30 p.m. at the intersection of 7th and Main Streets and travel up Main to its intersection with 4th Street.
After the parade, everyone is welcome to join the Mardi Gras Block Party, which will already be in progress in the 300 block of Main Street with other hosts Soul Fish Cafe, Brewski’s Pub & Grub, Bark Bar, AMR Architects, and CJRW.
Every dog that is pre-registered will receive one free day of doggy daycare at any Hounds Lounge location.
Online registration to participate in this year’s dog parade is $20.00 per pet. Same day registration will be $25.00. The first 200 dogs to arrive will receive a complimentary Bark Bar Wag Bag, and all dogs will be eligible for prizes. Prizes will be awarded for Best Pet/Owner Look a-like Costumes, Best Dressed Pet, Best Small Dog Costume, Best Large Dog Costume, Most Original Costume, Best Float and Judge’s Choice. Portions of the proceeds go to the MacArthur Park dog park.
