SEARCY, AR — A woman has died after being hit by a White County Sheriff’s deputy Thursday night.
According to Arkansas State Police (ASP), crews responded to the call at 9:09 p.m. Thursday in the 500 block of Booth Road.
A preliminary fatal crash summary from ASP says 24-year-old Courtney Book was riding a bicycle westbound on Booth Road when she was struck from behind by White County Sheriff’s deputy Brandon Grimes, who was driving a 2011 Chevy.
Book was pronounced dead shorty after 2:30 Friday morning at UAMS, according to the report.
