Yellville Man Arrested for Stealing Gun, Medication

BAXTER COUNTY, AR – The Baxter County Sheriff’s Office has arrested Jesse Glenn Zurcher, 19, of Yellville in connection with the theft of a handgun, ammunition, and some prescription pills from a residence on Baxter CR 139 that was reported on November 18.

The victim told deputies that a work crew was at his home to install flooring. The victim noticed that one of the workers was acting suspiciously, including making several trips to the bathroom where the prescription medications were kept and adjacent to a bedroom where the handgun and ammunition were kept.

According to a report, after the work crew left, the victim discovered the firearm, a Glock Model 22 .40 caliber handgun, to be missing from the bedroom and the prescriptions missing from the bathroom.

The victim then called the owner of the business, who then questioned members of the work crew.

Afterwards, the stolen handgun was turned over to the Sheriff’s Office, however the prescription medication and ammunition have not been recovered, according to the Sheriff’s Office.

Zurcher was brought to the Sheriff’s Office to be interviewed about the thefts, and he was then booked into the Detention Center on Thursday morning on charges of:

Possession of Controlled Substance – Felony
Possession of Controlled Substance – Misdemeanor
Theft of Property – Felony
Theft of Property – Misdemeanor

Zurcher is being held on a $20,000 bond, and he is scheduled to appear before the Baxter County Circuit Court on December 4.
