Rio vendor sells unique sailboats

Road to the Olympics

You cannot go to another city, or another country, and not bring back something for your family and friends.

Grumari is considered one of the best viewpoints in all of Rio de Janeiro, even on a cloudy day, and so it makes perfect sense that Domasio Silva would choose this spot to make some extra money.

“The boats are made in Barra by a friend,” Silva said.

Silva went on to talk about the unique sailboats that are made of wood and by hand.

You would think they would be expensive, but they are not. It is only 20 Brazilian Real, which is just $6.32 American for an authentic Brazilian product.

Silva says that his friend works about a half day by selling them after lunch.
