As expected with the conclusion of the 2018 college football season the graduate transfer market is starting to heat up.
According to SEC Network’s Cole Cubelic, Ty Storey is exploring transfer options and now is in the NCAA transfer portal.
Arkansas QB Ty Storey is exploring a transfer and is now listed in the ncaa transfer portal, per a source.— Cole Cubelic (@colecubelic) January 9, 2019
Storey played in 10 games this past season with nine starts. He completed 143 of 250 passes for 1,584 yards, 11 touchdowns and 10 interceptions. He also rushed 67 times for 146 yards and a touchdown. Storey came to Arkansas from Charleston High School.
Prior to 2018, Storey had only played in five games with no starts. He was 1 of 4 passing for three yards. He was highly recruited out of high school choosing the Hogs over Alabama, Auburn and others.
Alabama quarterback Jalen Hurts appears to be looking at leaving the Tide with reports that he’s now in the NCAA transfer portal. This comes as no surprise given that Hurts lost his starting job to sophomore Tua Tagovailoa this season. Hurts will have one year left to play in 2019.
Hurts, who is 26-2 as a starter, came in for an injured Tagovailoa in the SEC Championship Game and helped lead the Tide past Georgia. This season, Hurts completed 51 of 70 passes for 765 yards, eight touchdowns and two interceptions. He also rushed 36 times for 167 yards and a pair of touchdowns.
In three years at Alabama, Hurts completed 445 of 707 passes for 5,626 yards, 48 touchdowns and 12 interceptions. He rushed 381 times for 1,976 yards and 23 touchdowns. Sources indicate Arkansas is trying to get Hurts to visit.
What kind of odds does Arkansas to get Hurts? According to two betting services the odds vary. With BetDSI the Hogs aren’t mentioned.
BetDSI has Houston the favorite at +150 followed by Arizona +300, Maryland +400 and then UCLA and TCU at +500. They had 15 schools but no mention of Arkansas or Auburn, a school some are speculating could emerge as the favorite. Hurts is from Channelview (Texas).
The MyBookie Sportsbook though lists TCU as the favorite for Hurts at +400. They are followed by Maryland and Auburn at +500 then Miami and Houston at +600. They are followed by Arkansas, Florida and Alabama at +700 and then Florida State and Tennessee at +800.
The @betmybookie odds on where Jalen Hurts will play in the fall:

Florida Atlantic +100

Another quarterback who hasn’t declared his intentions to transfer yet, but could in the future is Texas’ Shane Buechele. BetDSI has the Hogs established as the favorite there at +200. They are followed by Ole Miss +250, Mississippi State +350, Miami and Houston +500, SMU +600 and then Kansas and Kansas State +800.
Buechele, who is from Arlington (Texas) Lamar, has played in 23 games at Texas including 12 in 2016, nine in 2017 and then two this past season.
Buechele has completed 403 of 648 passes for 4,636 yards, 30 touchdowns and 16 interceptions. He has rushed 168 times for 268 yards and four touchdowns.
While Hurts and Storey have graduated, sources indicate that Buechele needs another semester at Texas to graduate thus he wouldn’t be available until summer if he opts to leave. He is behind Sam Ehlinger with the Longhorns. Ehlinger helped lead the Longhorns to a big bowl win over Georgia.
If Storey does transfer, that leaves Arkansas with redshirt freshmen Connor Noland and John Stephen Jones as well as sophomore Daulton Hyatt and incoming freshman KJ Jefferson at quarterback. Rumors have had Hyatt leaving, but he hasn’t announced that.
