NORTH LITTLE ROCK, AR – Brad Bolding, former high school head football coach, who was fired by the North Little Rock School District (NLRSD) this month is suing the district.

In the lawsuit filed by Bolding’s attorney Friday, it is alleged that NLRSD delayed Bolding’s termination hearing, which the suit claims violated state law.

The lawsuit also alleges that Bolding’s performance review in late 2014 indicated that he was performing at or above of what was requested of him. At that time, Bolding’s supervisor, who did the review, did not bring to light any issues that needed to be corrected.

Bolding’s attorney also states that,”NLRSD personnel policies are so deficient and inadequate that no reasonable teacher could be expected to understand those policies and follow them.”

Two termination letters were issued to Bolding by the district, and Bolding’s lawsuit states that, “termination letters were intentionally written in such a manner as to intimidate, harass, embarrass and tarnish Bolding’s reputation.”

Bolding’s attorney argues in the lawsuit that the coach did not make improper purchases but took donations from private entities that were used by the district.

Back in February, potential Arkansas Activities Association (AAA) violations came to light which essentially argued a case for terminating Bolding.

The coach’s lawsuit claims the school district failed to properly investigate that no real violations took place to result in the forfiture of all varsity football and basketball wins from the 2013-14 season.

The lawsuit also asks that Bolding be reinstated as coach, and that he be “awarded all damages incurred as a result of NLRSD’s illegal and wrongful conduct and, that he be awarded reasonable attorney fees and costs herein incurred.”
