By Otis Kirk

Arkansas has its running back for the Class of 2019 with the addition of Phenix City (Ala.) Central running back A’Montae Spivey.

Spivey signed with Arkansas on Wednesday morning choosing them over Ole Miss. Spivey took his official visit to Arkansas the weekend of the Alabama game. He opted not to sign early and was at Ole Miss the Jan. 25 weekend.

He had committed to the Hogs on Aug. 6. He helped lead his squad to an undefeated season and state title. He rushed 179 times for 1,335 yards and 17 touchdowns and caught 10 passes for 124 yards. He returned three kickoffs for 116 yards.

Spivey joins a group of running backs that includes senior Devwah Whaley and juniors Chase Hayden, Rakeem Boyd and T.J. Hammonds.

He joins Mansfield (Texas) Legacy safety Jalen Catalon as signing with the Hogs so far today. They are still awaiting word on some more recruits.

Catalon committed to the Razorbacks on Jan. 18. Catalon’s senior season was limited to one game due to an injury. But as a junior, he proved to be one of the best players in the nation. He had 93 tackles, including 70 unassisted, six tackles for loss, three interceptions, three pass breakkups, a forced fumble and four recovered ones. He returned nine punts for 110 yards and a touchdown. On offense in 2017, Catalon completed 61 of 116 passes for 1,120 yards, 15 touchdowns and four interceptions. He rushed 104 times for 919 yards and 13 touchdowns while catching one pass for 23 yards.
