LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – More than 700 job applicants were connected with employers at Tuesday’s Fox16 Job Alert and Goodwill Industries of Arkansas’ Job Fair at War Memorial Stadium.
According to Goodwill officials, some job seekers received employment offers on the spot. Hundreds of others were interviewed or able to submit resumes to the more than 70 employers who took part in the event.
This marked the third annual collaborative event between Fox16 and Goodwill.
The job fair came about as an idea from Fox16 Good Day anchor Susanne Brunner. She also does a weekly report on job openings that airs Thursdays at 9 p.m. For Brunner, it just made sense to expand the report into something more concrete.
The Fox16 Job Alert and Goodwill Industries of Arkansas’ Job Fair fits within the mission of the station’s Victory Over Violence campaign. Employment has been identified as a key component to helping people turn away from a life of crime. As part of that campaign, Fox16 will continue efforts to help people across Central Arkansas improve their financial situation.
