Tropical Storm Wilfred and Subtropical Storm Alpha Named in Atlantic

Weather Headlines

The National Hurricane Center has named Tropical Storm Wilfred currently located in the eastern tropical Atlantic Ocean and Subtropical Storm Alpha off the coast of Portugal. Since Wilfred is the last name on this year’s tropical cyclone list, the Greek Alphabet naming convention is now in use. It appears that Tropical Depression Twenty Two in the western Gulf of Mexico will become Tropical Storm Beta by Friday evening.
