Winter weather in Arkansas clearing by noon

LITTLE ROCK, Ark- Monday Morning Update – A Winter Storm Warning has been issued for Union, Ashley and Chicot counties in far southern Arkansas. It is in effect through noon Monday. Meanwhile, a Winter Weather Advisory has been issued for southern Arkansas that lasts from until noon Monday. The Winter Weather Advisory includes: Star City, Arkadelphia, Camden, Monticello & De Queen.

TIMING– Snow fell the heaviest over southeast Arkansas with highest accumulation near 4″ in Monticello. Little Rock saw some flurries near 7:00am cst but they moved out quickly. Any leftover snow should be out of the state by or before noon Monday.

TRAVEL IMPACTS – There are some slushy and slippery spots on highways toward our south. Avoid driving in southeast Arkansas if you can this morning.
Here are where some slick spots have been reported:

Hwy 425 near Monticello

Hwy 165 near Boydell

Hwy 65 over Lake Village

Hwy 530 around Star City

Slushy roads around El Dorado

Also some slush showing up from De Queen to Foreman in southwest Arkansas.
